Chemistry Set is a power trio whose music rides the edge of Americana, alt-country and straight-up rock ‘n’ roll. Based in Northeast  Minneapolis, the band is known for its compelling songwriting, sturdy grooves and rich harmonies. 

Chemistry Set's deep well of original songs are penned by singer-guitarist Chris Thompson, punched up with driving rhythms and sharp harmonies of drummer-guitarist Steve Smith, and locked firmly in the pocket by bassist Jackie Crosby. 

The band gets inspiration from the hard knocks and uplifting moments of real life, along with the music of Neil Young, Son Volt, John Doe, Pete Yorn, Tom Petty, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and many others.

Chemistry Set can rock the main stage at rock clubs, entertain guests in lawn chairs at outdoor concerts, add magic to private parties or amp up the energy at neighborhood watering holes.
